2026-10-28Crimp-Ring Seal Failure and Bead-Plate Separation
Symptom/Description:
• Continuous or intermittent air leakage along the circumferential seam interface between the metallic end cap (bead plate) and the rubber flex member—indicative of compromised radial compression seal integrity.

Root Cause (Manufacturing Nonconformance):
• Hydraulic crimping diameter exceeding specified tolerance limits; non-uniform circumferential clamping force distribution; or excessive crimping pressure resulting in mechanical damage to the embedded wire bead core—including crushing, deformation, or severance.

Consequence:
• Rapid system pressure decay—commonly observed as a full-pressure loss within 24 hours—and inability to maintain rated operating pressure; elevated risk of catastrophic bead-plate detachment during high-articulation suspension rebound events.

Quality Control Requirements / Acceptance Criteria:
• 100% post-crimp submersion bubble-emission testing at 100 psi, with zero detectable bubbles permitted over a 5-minute stabilized hold period.
